It's been awhile since I updated the blog. But there is good news. News that should have been posted a while ago, but eh it happens.

Matsubaya has two new Kamuro, Fuyu  and Miyoko. Seeing them together with Kamuro Momoirobara makes me want to take them all in to a great big hug and squeeze the life out of them.

Also, Shinzo Umetsuki will be having her debut on September 1st at 9pm SLT on Suigetsu's lovely stage. I can't wait to see he dancing again, shining like the star she is. All of our girls are stars. One day they will all shine together.

Oiran Dochu- Umbrella & Kimono

Over the last few months, I've come to realize that, no matter how much I search for these things, items for the Oiran dochu, and no where to be found in SL. So, i decided to reach out and make a start in getting some of these items made. First on my list is the umbrella the men carry, and the actual kimono they wear, as I've not found anything close enough to it. I've already posted a request for the umbrella in the community forms, so I'm just waiting to hear back from someone, anyone who's up to the task. Hopefully It'll not break my wallets to have it made.... if any of you know some skilled builders/scriptes/animators, please send them my way, as it's one of my goals to see some of these things made.

Chibi Tayuu - Red Ink

My pen to my drawing tablet recently went missing so the tablet itself is useless until i can buy another one. BUT I did recently do two more pictures. I find I have a fondness for red.
And I know the kanzashi isn't very traditional, but I like to be creative with my hair ornaments. If there were things like this in SL you can be sure I'd be wearing them!

Matsubaya's Fisrt Obon

Obon has been a wonderful experience for all of us in Matsubaya who were able to attend this past weekends festivities. Seeing as it's been my first experience with Obon ever, i was really excited to be able to particapate in the many different Okiya's festivities honoring our ancestors and guiding them back to heave with the lighting of lanterns. I was able to go to many places, meet many new people from the geisha community, met up with friends and got to spend time with my brothers and sister of our Ageya. I have to admit, that sending of my lanterns as the days settled into night, watching them float on the waters gleaming surface, I shed tears as I remembered my Obaa chan who's image has long since faded from my mind. She was a wonderful women, and I'm sad to have only known her at such a young age.
Every Okiya had something different, but the yagura dancing was the best! We have our own yagura stage set up in Matsubaya, but since our director of the festival has come down with a cold, our Obon may not go quite as we had planned. Still I hope to do something for Obon, we should celebrate as well.

I look forward to new festivals and Obon next year, as this is one festival I've thoroughly enjoyed. To everyone who made it possible, I thank you for the fun times I've had over the weekend.

The end of Friday night's festivities, the Matsubaya group had a few of it's members together.
